SUMMARY:Over-REACH: The private health insurance industry's plot to further privatize Medicare
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Susan Rogers of Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) will discuss an issue that relates to the further privatization of Medicare. The Accountable Care Organization Realizing Equity\, Access and Community Health (ACO REACH)) program\, previously called Direct Contract Entities which is a program created by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid innovation (CMMI). CMMI was created under the Obama administration to create innovative plans to improve quality and save money; however\, it operates without oversight from Congress. \nDr. Rogers was quoted in PHNPs media statement on March 8\, saying\, “REACH’s equity incentives are no-strings-attached financial giveaways to middlemen\, and could encourage profiteering in underserved communities.”  You can hear more of the details by attending the webinar\, which you can register for here: Health & Medicine Policy Research Group (neoncrm.com)
